Landfill foe has not yet begun to fight

CHEMUNG COUNTY, NY - Robin Stroman loves her town, her heritage and her family.
Those values drive her to fight against the expansion of the Chemung County Landfill, located about four miles from her home.
Robin is vice president of Residents for the Preservation of Lowman and Chemung, a citizens group opposing the 25-year agreement with Casella Waste Management to enlarge and run the landfill. The 9-month-old group says it opposes the agreement because the landfill accepts garbage from outside the area and is improperly disposing of it....Read more.
