Firefighters extinguish blaze in landfill trailer in Pike Township

PIKE TWP - East Sparta firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out Wednesday evening in a trailer of waste at the Countywide Recycling & Disposal Facility, a fire official said.
East Sparta Fire Chief Arnie Adams said the blaze was first reported at about 9:45 p.m., and the cause is unknown. No one was hurt, and the fire, which did not spread, caused no environmental problems, he added....Read more.
