EPA vows to stay on top of landfill smell

CANTON TWP - State officials have said that the Countywide Recycling & Disposal Facility has until Dec. 15 to resolve its odor problem — or else.
But people from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency told more than 130 residents at a community meeting Thursday that the EPA still will not say what the “else” would be. The agency’s director, Joe Koncelik, has never said what penalties he would impose on the Pike Township landfill if it doesn’t get rid of the stench....Read more.
