Landfill case to be appealed

BOLIVAR - By a 5-3 vote, the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Solid Waste Management District on Wednesday decided to appeal a state decision to permit the expansion of the Countywide Recycling & Disposal Facility in southern Stark County.

The decision, which takes the case to the 10th District Court of Appeals in Columbus, was approved by Stark County Commissioner Todd Bosley, Wayne Commissioner Scott Wiggam and Tuscarawas Commissioners Kerry Metzger, Chris Abbuhl and Jim Seldenright.

The move was opposed by Stark Commissioners Jane Vignos and Tom Harmon and Wayne County's Ann Obrecht.
